Jonatan Christie won the 2023 Indonesia Masters. He won the all Indonesian final against Chico Aura Dwi Wardoyo. In the final match of the Indonesia Masters 2023 at Istora Senayan, Sunday (29/1/2023) afternoon WIB, Jonathan won two straight games over Chico. He finished the match with a score of 21-15, 21-13 in 44 minutes.
The match was pretty tight at the start. Jonatan had a 10-7 lead after Chico smashed wide. Even though Chico got close, he finally entered the interval with an 11-9 advantage. He started to stay away 14-10 after Chico made two consecutive errors. However, he then also made a mistake that made Chico close the gap.
Jonatan Christie won a 51-shot long rally to take a 17-15 lead after Chico shot wide. He then won consecutive points to secure the first game 21-15. He started the second game well. However, his lead was trimmed and Chico turned 7-5. He snatched four straight points to take a 9-7 lead. He was able to maintain his lead into the interval at 11-8.
Since winning 14-11, Jonathan continues to go fast by getting 5 points in a row. While Chico began to be overwhelmed. Jonatan finally won 21-13 via cross smack.
