Bingkai Karya – Singaporean musician Josh Makazo just released his latest single, “Belong To You,” through No Saints Allowed. This new track comes right before his eagerly awaited debut performance in Singapore.
“Belong To You” is a deep and emotional song that deals with the tough experience of dealing with betrayal in a relationship. While the song’s melody is catchy and upbeat, its lyrics reflect the pain and confusion of facing infidelity and trying to understand it.
Josh Makazo explains, “‘Belong To You” was written through my personal experience with an unfaithful partner. The lyrics of overwhelming betrayal disguised by the song’s uplifting melodies and upbeat tempo are all purposeful to metaphorically represent a happy facade I carried for a long time.”
His music is known for its honest portrayal of emotions, blending heartfelt lyrics with engaging pop tunes. “Belong To You” showcases his talent for mixing emotional depth with a pop vibe, giving listeners a thoughtful experience wrapped in a catchy beat.
Josh also reflects on how the song’s ending saxophone solo captures his emotional feeling. “The complexity of the solo represents the intense feelings I was going through. I hope listeners can connect with the state of mind I was in during that time.”
Along with the single, Josh Makazo is gearing up for his debut headline concert, “BEFORE I SEE: Josh Makazo’s First Headline Show,” set for October 18th, 2024, at Singapore’s Esplanade Annexe Studio.
Before the show, Josh will release his EP, “BEFORE I SEE,” offering a preview of his upcoming album, “ULTRAVIOLET.” Fans can expect live performances of popular tracks like “half of my heart” and “eclipse,” along with songs from his debut album “GRADIENT” and the new EP.
