Lizzo released a new remix of her song “Special,” which features multi-platinum singer SZA. Just a few days after winning the Grammy for Record of the Year for her song “About Damn Time,” Lizzo unveiled a remix of “Special” with SZA. The uplifting song is meaningful to Lizzo and was called SZA’s personal favorite track on Lizzo’s Special album.
The fan-favorite combo gave the highly anticipated single its live debut back in November 2022 during Lizzo’s sold-out L.A. Kia Forum event, which is presently available for streaming on HBO’s “Lizzo: Live In Concert”. The emotional official video clip for “Special,” filmed by award-winning cinematographer Christian Breslauer, displays bright images as well as Lizzo’s natural superhero energy.
The duet, which exudes unabashed positivity, follows Lizzo’s Grammy Award for “Record of the Year” for her worldwide blockbuster hit “About Damn Time,” which peaked at number one on the Billboard Hot 100. The four-time Grammy winner became the first black woman to win “Record of the Year” since Whitney Houston’s win for “I Will Always Love You” in 1994.
