Roadshow Gerakan Nasional 1000 Startup Digital (Roadshow of the 1000 Digital Startup National Movement) was held on Thursday, May 25, 2023 in Malang Creative Center. The roadshow was initiated by the Ministry Of Communication And Information Technology through the Directorate of Informatics Empowerment (Direktorat Pemberdayaan Informatika) under the theme ‘Sinergitas Pentahelix Dalam Peningkatan Inovasi Startup Digital Jawa Timur’.
There were hundreds of startup players across East Java attending the roadshow. The startup industry in Indonesia is experiencing its golden age for the last few years. (hopeclinical.com) This moment is also the basis for the Ministry of Communication and Informatics to present the Gerakan Nasional 1000 Startup Digital as a manifestation of the need for assistance and empowerment to the digital world in the future.
Drs. H. Sutiaji, the mayor of Malang City, attended the event and stated that in 2045, Indonesia will be one of the giant countries and will encounter Bonus Demography in which the young people will dominate the society. Therefore, he believed that a good arrangement on several fields like economy and human resources is needed to be able to compete with the world.
He also added that Malang’s economy grew well, with 10% growth in the creative economy compared to 2020 that reached 4.7% . The number of creative players also increases to over 200 players.
As a contribution to Gerakan Nasional 1000 Startup Digital, there are 63 universities that have Informatics Technology majors with 16 of them cooperating with Malang City Government for application and game curriculum.
Gerakan Nasional 1000 Startup Digital has been running since 2016, creating 1400+ startups and facilitating more than 100,000 potential founders with the help of 1,500+ movers from various sectors and 500+ mentors and facilitators. In 2023, the 1000 Digital Startup National Movement initiated the formation of 13 Hubs which will become centers for implementing activities and program development in the regions.
