Marking her first solo project in several years, the release arrives after months of fan speculation and a series of viral pop-up performances.
Serving as her first release since 2022’s “Sidelines,” “Lost Boys” reintroduces listeners to Phoebe Bridgers’ unmistakable musical world. The track captures the singer-songwriter at her most direct and emotionally raw, offering an early glimpse into her upcoming album and her first solo record in six years. Even a simple exclamation like “Yeah!” has rarely sounded so warm, while its unforgettable melody once again showcases the exceptional songwriting that has established Bridgers as one of the most influential artists of her generation.
The official music video for “Lost Boys,” directed by Lance Oppenheim and Pablo Rochat, follows Phoebe Bridgers and its cast as they participate in a live-action role-playing game at a Renaissance festival. Through themes of love and loss, Bridgers once again demonstrates her remarkable ability to craft songs that are both intimate and cinematic, further cementing her reputation as one of the defining songwriters of her generation.
‘Lost Weekend’ marks Phoebe Bridgers’ first album since ‘Punisher,’ her critically acclaimed sophomore record that earned multiple GRAMMY® Award nominations and was released at the height of the COVID-19 pandemic. Her debut album, Stranger in the Alps, released just one month after her 23rd birthday, received widespread acclaim for its remarkable musical maturity beyond her years. Punisher further fulfilled that promise, delivering a collection of intelligent, captivating songs that left a lasting impression on listeners around the world.
With ‘Lost Weekend,’ Phoebe Bridgers appears to refine the qualities that have long defined her artistry while introducing a number of fresh surprises throughout the album. Now at the height of her creative powers, she once again demonstrates her unwavering commitment to honing her craft and pushing the boundaries of her artistic expression.
Prior to her recent viral pop-up performances, Bridgers last appeared on stage with boygenius, the acclaimed supergroup she formed alongside longtime friends Lucy Dacus and Julien Baker. The trio took home multiple GRAMMY® Awards for their critically acclaimed 2023 album, including Best Alternative Music Album, Best Rock Song, and Best Rock Performance for “Not Strong Enough.” Bridgers was also among the night’s biggest winners, earning her fourth GRAMMY® Award for Best Pop Duo/Group Performance through her collaboration with SZA on “Ghost in the Machine” from the album SOS. Earlier, she also joined Taylor Swift as a special guest on select dates of The Eras Tour, following nearly two years on her own Reunion Tour, which included three sold-out North American legs, 30 shows across Europe, and concluding performances throughout South America, Asia, and Australia.
Beyond the stage, Bridgers has delivered some of the most memorable recorded performances of recent years, including appearances on NPR’s Tiny Desk Concert and Saturday Night Live. Since her last solo album, she has released a series of standalone singles, cover songs, and collaborations with Paul McCartney, MUNA, Bright Eyes, The 1975, Lorde, Taylor Swift, and The National. Her influence continues to resonate globally, reaching a combined audience of more than 4.1 million across streaming platforms, with a particularly strong following throughout Asia, where the Philippines and Indonesia rank among her ten largest listener markets worldwide.
