Mezzaluna Welcomes New Era Marker, Releases Her New Single “No Turning Back”

Bingkai Karya– Singer-songwriter Jaya Mezzaluna Bungari, known as Mezzaluna, studied overseas after releasing “Legend” in 2023. Her music passion never faded. In October 2024, Mezzaluna will release her sixth song, “No Turning Back,” which she wrote. Her fifth and sixth singles were separated by studies and a time for Mezzaluna to find a new musical direction. “My first songs were written in 2015 as a teenager. I wanted my music to reflect my personal growth throughout time.”

Mezzaluna tackles the subject of a relationship that is doomed because one partner has lost interest this time. “My label suggested I write something relatable for a lot people in general. She thinks love and heartbreak are universal. Lisa assisted Mezzaluna in co-writing. It was hard to share my views because I’m autonomous. After trying it and seeing how nicely it went, I enjoyed it.”

About Mezzaluna

After studying Anthropology and Political Science at Birmingham University, Mezzaluna says her sixth single is different. “My previous songs emphasized instruments. My vocals are now my primary concern, with minimal background music to enhance them. The tune was also modified from the demo. She says some lines were trimmed or changed to simplify and flow. Mezzaluna calls “No Turning Back” “acoustic” since it’s done acoustically, “deep” because of her voice’s emotional concentration, and “Adele” because it sounds like her favorite artist.

As the first Indonesian artist signed to OFFMUTE, Mezzaluna reflects on her artistic journey and delivers her sixth single. “From writing songs at 15 to recording them in early college was an unexpected journey. Even after my heartbreak, I hope to keep making music. I want to keep loving what I do and hope this new song reflects my passion and hard work.” In early October, Mezzaluna will be releasing their sixth song, “No Turning Back” on digital channels.
