Her new single, titled ‘Oh Cinta’, marks a significant milestone in Ruth’s journey of self-discovery and her long-awaited exploration of the musical identity she’s been searching for. This is Ruth’s first single in 2025 and her comeback since her last release in 2023. ‘Oh Cinta’ is also her debut track sung entirely in Indonesian.
“There were a lot of self-reflection moments I went through before this song was born,” she shared. “For me, 2025 is the year when people will finally see the real Ruth Garcia.”
Teaming up with Kaleb J in the songwriting process, Ruth said everything fell into place naturally. The song, she revealed, came to life unexpectedly and flowed effortlessly from her mind. “It started when Kaleb and I were just casually jamming. He played a chord progression in 6/8 tempo, and suddenly, my brain started singing. The melody just came out on its own — like the song had been waiting to be written by the two of us. From there, we found time to record a demo, and everything just came together,” Ruth recalled.
With ‘Oh Cinta’, Ruth becomes a voice for those who are in the middle of convincing someone they love — people navigating the uncertainty of new or undefined relationships. “These days, a lot of relationships are stuck in this undefined zone — you’re close, you talk a lot, but there’s still no clarity or certainty. So it’s totally normal if people end up overthinking and asking, ‘Am I the only one feeling this?’” she explained.
‘Oh Cinta’ offers an easy-listening vibe that Ruth hopes can accompany Indonesian music lovers wherever they are — whether driving, on a date, or doing schoolwork. With its light melodies and relatable, adorable lyrics, she wishes the song can bring listeners a sense of giddy joy and even make them smile to themselves.
“Love isn’t just something you feel or see — it has to be constantly reassured,” Ruth said. “There’s nothing wrong with being open about your feelings in a relationship. I hope this song becomes an anthem for all the hopeless romantics out there,” she concluded with a smile.
