“Sri Asih” is Ready to Stream Online This March

“Sri Asih”, one of Indonesia’s superhero movies, brings good news to fans. After showing in theaters on November 17, 2022, the movie “Sri Asih” has been confirmed to be broadcast and can be watched online starting March 24, 2023, on Disney+ Hotstar Indonesia. Later, the movie will be available for the Asian region, including Indonesia. This news is a happy news because the “Sri Asih” film will soon be available on the Disney+ Hotstar service, making this superhero film from Indonesia even more recognized by foreign audiences.

“Sri Asih” tells the story of a professional wrestler named Alana who is always filled with fear and anger in her dreams. When Alana grew up, the curiosity inside her led her to find out about the truth about her past that she never knew. Alana then finds out that she has a relationship with Dewi Asih, the Goddess of Justice.

The movie starring Pevita Pearce, Christine Hakim, Randy Pangalila, Dimas Anggara, Ario Bayu, and Dian Sastrowardoyo, is an adaptation of the classic Indonesian comic with the same title by R. A. Kokasih and produced under Bumilangit Cinematic Universe. “Sri Asih” is the second film introduced by the Bumilangit Cinematic Universe. Before “Sri Asih”, there was “Gundala”, which also had been shown in theaters (2019) and Netflix (2021). “Sri Asih” was directed by Upi and the script was written by Joko Anwar.

The movie “Sri Asih” rated by the audience has stunning visual quality and CGI effects among other Indonesian superhero films. Besides, the character “Sri Asih” is the first female hero to appear in an Indonesian comic that appeared in 1953.
