During a special panel at Anime Expo 2023, Warner Bros. Japan announced the production of Suicide Squad ISEKAI, an all-new original anime series based on the characters from the DC Comics universe. The project was confirmed by both Warner Bros. Japan and WIT Studio, who will be handling the animation production for the series.
On July 4th, 2023, DC finally released the announcement teaser video of Suicide Squad ISEKAI. However, from the synopsis and teaser, we cannot see how Harley, Joker and Suicide Squad will be transported to another world.
Eri Osada will direct the anime with Tappei Nagatsuki and Eiji Umehara writing the script. Akira Amano served as the original character designer for the anime as well as drew the Harley Quinn artwork used for the series announcement, Naoto Hosoda as character designer.
Besides that, there is Kenichiro Suehiro as music composer, and Shinya Tsuruoka as animation producer for Warner Bros. Japan. What’s even more interesting is Tappei Nagatsuki, author of the famous light novel and isekai manga series: Re:Zero − Starting Life in Another World will be involved as one of the writers for Suicide Squad ISEKAI.

The teaser opens with the appearance of an anime version of Harley Quinn in a red and black Harley Quinn costume with her hair in two pigtails. Then came the figure of the Joker driving a car. They then left Gotham City to explore new adventures until they arrived in a new world.
At the end of the teaser, Amanda Waller’s character also appears. It seems that he is watching the movements of Harley Quinn and Joker. Suicide Squad ISEKAI is produced by WIT Studio, a well-known studio for handling a number of many popular anime, such as the Attack on Titan and Spy x Family series.
