Bingkai Karya – Passion Vibe officially introduces Tatiana Mannering, a Jakarta-based rapper and songwriter of Indonesian-Australian heritage, through her debut single, “Bae Bong Bong” a song that is not only meant to be heard, but whose aura can be borrowed.
Tatiana is not an entirely unfamiliar name. Previously known as Tat Mannerz, she began her musical journey by writing poetry during her school years while living in Melbourne, Australia. Her passion for words evolved into songwriting over free beats she discovered on YouTube, eventually leading her to record her first song in Jakarta in 2018. Now, after seven years of growth and exploration, she has found her creative home at Passion Vibe.
Passion Vibe saw something rare in Tatiana: a female rapper with a distinct identity that is difficult to replicate. “Bae Bong Bong” was born from a spontaneous moment in the studio, a phrase that naturally flowed out while Tatiana was searching for a rhythm over the beat. “Bae Bong Bong came out while I was humming over the beat. It’s like I’m feeling a vibe, channeling a version of me that’s confident, classy, teasing, and fully knows her worth,” she recalled.
The phrase instantly caught the attention of Belanegara Abe and Sumantri Limin, who were present in the studio at the time. From that moment, the entire song began to take shape. However, “Bae Bong Bong” is more than just a song with a unique title. At its core lies a philosophy that Tatiana strongly believes in: confidence is an aura that can be shared. “Every song we listen to carries a certain energy that can influence our mood and emotions,” she explained. “Bae Bong Bong is wrapped in an uplifting beat designed to boost your confidence and help you power through busy days. Listening to this song is like borrowing that high-energy aura whenever you need an extra boost of confidence, attitude, and good vibes in your daily life.”
For Tatiana, “Bae Bong Bong” is not simply a debut, it is a statement. Musically, “Bae Bong Bong” blends upbeat hip-hop with light yet powerful electronic influences. Tatiana and her team translated two key elements: playful summer vibes and feminine attitude into an arrangement that feels fresh and irresistibly singable. “It started with rapping with short bars and adding some shouts to complete the lines. It gives a soft feminine feel that makes you want to sing along,” Tatiana explained. “The alpha female energy is present too; it blends well with the upbeat hip-hop/electronic sound of the song.”
The track was initially developed by Belanegara Abe, before Sumantri Limin joined the process and immediately recognized its strong potential. Their collaboration created a studio environment that was both enjoyable and creatively challenging. “Bae Bong Bong and its recording process was so fun, but the hardest part was finding the perfect flow for this type of song because personally, I have never done anything like this,” admitted Tatiana. “We pulled it off because we were on the same page in a lot of aspects.”
One of the most distinctive aspects of “Bae Bong Bong” is Tatiana’s vocal experimentation. “In this song, I played around a lot with tone and mood from being super chill and speaking softly, to faster flows and a delivery that gradually builds in energy. So, the overall new experience for me was creating a soft build-up with a touch of attitude.”
When asked what message she hopes to leave as her opening statement to Indonesia’s music industry, Tatiana’s answer was brief, sharp, and unforgettable. “You don’t need permission to be confident. Own it.”
And when asked about the perfect moment to listen to “Bae Bong Bong” whether while walking into a party, getting ready for a fun night out, or simply reminding yourself of your worth Tatiana refused to choose just one. “I think it’s all of the above. This song comes from confidence within yourself, and when you’re feeling that high energy, you can pull off anything you want and ever wish for.”
“Bae Bong Bong” will be accompanied by an official music video, scheduled for release on June 5, 2026 via Passion Vibe’s YouTube channel, two days after the audio’s official release on June 3, 2026.
The concept? “A playful summer world where confidence shines, feminine energy leads, and attitude becomes an aura everyone can borrow.”
As for whether “Bae Bong Bong” marks the beginning of a larger project, Tatiana prefers to keep that answer wrapped in mystery. “We’ll never know. Maybe there will be a series of Bae Bong Bong songs, or maybe it’ll simply remain a song that reminds people to be confident. Whatever it becomes, it’s definitely a bright start.”
