Bingkai Karya – Jakarta Based Singer-Songwriter, Difki Khalif has released his latest single titled “Lamunan Di Kota Itu.” Different from previous songs, the title of the new single release is the result of an in-depth discussion between Difki Khalif and Musica Studio’s team.
According to Difki Khalif, “the title name ‘Lamunan Di Kota Itu’ is derived from me and Musica Studio’s Team through searching keywords that are easy to find. In the beginning, it was only “Lamunan”, but I wanted the word “Kota” to be in the title because the names of the cities in the song are important.” The song will be the opening for the upcoming album, titled “Biography.”
The themes of the album are love and longing, ‘Lamunan Di Kota Itu’ is told from another point of view under Difki’s characteristics in songwriting. This song tells a story about going on a vacation and the beauty of those cities that reminds him of the lover he misses. Inside the process of songwriting, Difki Khalif works with DM and Ricky Johannes as the music producer, and Kamga as the Vocal Director. “It could be said that the creative process is quite a long one. I ran the workshop at Sentul for five days. I want a story that is both unique and different. So that’s when I decided to put names of cities such as Jakarta, Bandung, Kuta, Paris, and Cappadocia.”.
The biggest challenge that Difki Khalif went through in the process of writing this song was changing the arrangement from a full-band arrangement to a minimalist acoustic. “Initially, this song was made with a full band arrangement, but after some consideration, I changed it to minimalist acoustic. The challenge was despite using a simple arrangement, the song would still be as energetic as in a full band arrangement. Finally, with the help of Kamga, we decided to make an acoustic arrangement but still pleasing to the ear,” said Difki Khalif.
The single “Lamunan Di Kota Itu” is now available on every digital streaming platform, Spotify, Apple Music, Langit Musik, Youtube Music, TikTok Music, and Trebel. As for the music video, it’s now available through Musica Studio’s official channel.
