Bingkai Karya – One of Indonesia’s most highly anticipated films of 2025, Rangga & Cinta, arrives with an equally awaited musical release. ‘Rangga & Cinta: Original Motion Picture Soundtrack’, a collaboration between Miles Films, Trinity Optima Production, Melly Goeslaw & Anto Hoed, and Aquarius Pustaka Musika was released on digital streaming platforms on October 3, 2025, in conjunction with the nationwide premiere of Rangga & Cinta, directed by Riri Riza. The soundtrack reintroduces the timeless love story of Ada Apa Dengan Cinta? for a new generation.
The album follows the release of ‘Rangga Cinta,’ the theme song for ‘Rangga & Cinta’ performed by Bilal Indrajaya and Eva Celia, as well as “Ingin Mencintai dan Dicintai,” sung by Leya Princy, who portrays Cinta.
Given the legacy of Ada Apa Dengan Cinta?, it feels incomplete for Rangga & Cinta to arrive without a soundtrack once again helmed by Melly Goeslaw and Anto Hoed as songwriters and producers. “For Melly, Ada Apa Dengan Cinta? is the same as it is for me and Riri, it’s something deeply personal and close to all of us,” said Mira Lesmana, producer of Rangga & Cinta.
Since Rangga & Cinta reimagines Ada Apa Dengan Cinta? for today’s audience, the soundtrack features mostly classic works from the original film, refreshed with modern arrangements and sounds while retaining the strong character of iconic songs like ‘Bimbang’ and ‘Tentang Seorang’. “I listen to a lot of music, and what I’ve been hearing lately has inspired me,” said Anto Hoed, music producer of the soundtrack. As a result, listeners will find surprises such as “Kubahagia” wrapped in indie rock, and “Dimana Malumu” reimagined with an electro pop twist.
A key difference from the original soundtrack is the voices behind the music. Instead of Melly Goeslaw’s vocals, as heard in Ada Apa Dengan Cinta?, this time the songs are performed by the cast of Rangga & Cinta themselves, including El Putra Sarira as Rangga, Leya Princy as Cinta, and young recording artist Rafi Sudirman, who plays Borne and injects raw energy into ‘Trully, Madly, Deeply Hate You’, a distortion heavy track. “I’m so happy to be singing these iconic songs because I grew up with the film and its music. On top of that, I also got to sing a brand-new song created for Rangga & Cinta,” shared Leya Princy.
In addition to reinterpreted classics, the soundtrack features new songs written specifically for the film’s narrative, such as Untuk Rangga performed by Leya Princy, and ‘Di Mana Cinta’, an interpolation of the iconic Ada Apa Dengan Cinta? sung by the “Geng Cinta” cast: Kyandra Sembel, Jasmine Nadya, Daniella Tumiwa, and Katyana. Some vocal recordings even took place during filming, requiring a unique approach to match the emotions on screen. “To truly enjoy the songs, watching the film makes the experience even more complete,” Mira Lesmana explained.
Another highlight is ‘Rangga Cinta’, the film’s theme song performed by Bilal Indrajaya and Eva Celia. The track was composed by Melly Goeslaw with lyrics developed alongside Mira Lesmana. “During the shoot, the idea for a theme song that could truly capture Rangga and Cinta’s story came up. It’s typical of the Ada Apa Dengan Cinta? universe to feature a duet Melly with Eric in the original, Melly with Marthino Lio in ‘Ratusan Purnama’ from Ada Apa Dengan Cinta 2,” said Mira. Melly added, “For this theme song, we wanted contrasting voices that still complemented the cast. That’s why we chose Bilal’s deep tones and Eva’s unique vocals.”
With both the film and soundtrack now available, the hope is that Rangga & Cinta will resonate as deeply as its predecessor did, just as Ada Apa Dengan Cinta? and its music have remained beloved for over two decades. “We hope the soundtrack becomes inseparable from the film itself so when you hear the music, you’ll want to revisit the movie, and when you watch the movie, you’ll want to return to the soundtrack,” said Melly.
The complete soundtrack album is now available on all major streaming platforms, while the film can be experienced in theaters across Indonesia.
