Since then, the partnership between Yamaha and Rossi has spawned plenty of exciting racing action as well as many great moments in the paddock and off the track.
Rossi is recognized as the most successful Yamaha rider in history, with 56 wins, 46 2nd place finishes, and 40 3rd place finishes from 273 races. Yamaha introduced Valentino Rossi as their brand ambassador at the Spanish MotoGP race on Sunday, April 30, 2023. The deal between Yamaha and their most successful rider in MotoGP will be valid for the next few years.
“It’s always great to be back in the Yamaha garage. It’s like coming home. We signed a contract, and I will be their ambassador for the next few years and I am very happy,” Rossi said.
“The best memories of my career are with Yamaha. I am happy to greet the whole team, old friends,” Rossi added.

The Doctor, Rossi’s nickname, will play the new face of Japanese construction. He also admitted that he was happy to represent Yamaha. On the other hand, this collaboration also strengthens rumors that Rossi’s racing team, VR46 Racing Team, has the potential to become a Yamaha satellite team in the future.
