Sunbathing Without Worrying about Skin Cancer, Here Is The Right Time to Do It

Our body needs vitamin D to supply calcium and phosphor which contribute to strengthening our bones. Lack of vitamin D will cause several health problems, such as osteoporosis, cancer, depression, and weakened muscles. To get enough vitamin D for our body, we can do sunbathing. But, can we sunbathe whenever we like as long as there is sunlight? The answer is, no. Wrong time of sunbathing leads to skin cancer, so here is the right time to do it. 

Our body needs UV-B from the sunlight. Yet, sunlight also contains UV-A which can be the cause of skin cancer. Therefore, the safest time to sunbathe is at 9 to 10 AM in the morning for 15-20 minutes when the UV-A level is not high. Sunbathing for 10 to 30 minutes is very ideal for our body to get enough vitamin D. Not only paying attention on the times, there are some aspects that we need to pay attention to in sunbathing, such as applying SPF 30 or more sunscreen 15 minutes before sunbathing or doing activity outside the room, looking for a shelter if you feel the heat is stinging, and drinking enough water to hydrate your body.
