Bingkai Karya– At the end of 2024, Banda Neira delivered an unexpected surprise. Banda Neira unexpectedly released a new song to honor their comeback to the Indonesian music industry, with no wind, rain, or prior notice. So, what caused Banda Neira to reunite after eight years apart?
Ananda Badudu, one of the two people who established Banda Neira in 2012, stated that the listeners played a significant influence in their reappearance last year, as well as his decision to stop Banda Neira’s disbandment.
“The listeners are the ones who have lived Banda Neira’s music all these years. I feel like I owe them a lot. I also never promoted Banda Neira’s albums, but the music find their own way to reach the fans,” Ananda explained.
Only toward the end of 2023 did Ananda decide to relaunch Banda Neira. Following that, he began collecting material for his third album. In mid-2024, he recruited Sasha, a fellow artist who had been accompanying Ananda on backup vocals, to join him. A few months after inviting Sasha, the new album “Tumbuh dan Menjadi” was finished.
The album “Tumbuh dan Menjadi” was recorded between May and September 2024. Lie Indra Perkasa produced the album’s songs, which were recorded at the Gadgadasvara (Tangerang) and Kua Etnika (Yogyakarta) studios.
