Japan Allows Visa-Free Entry, Here are the Requirements for Indonesian Tourist

Japan confirmed the regulation of free visas for individual tourists starting from October 11, 2022. This was taken after previously tourists who traveled to Japan were only limited to those who were members of tour groups due to COVID-19.

However, this regulation doesn’t mean that Indonesian tourists can travel to Japan without a visa. So, here are the requirements that people need to do before going there.

  • Having e-passport

You have to own an e-passport (passport with chip logo on the front cover) since the free visa is able to be used when you have a Japan Visa Waiver. With the e-passport, you can make a Japan Visa Waiver for free.

  • Fill out the form and register the e-passport

If you already have an e-passport, you should fill out the form which is provided by the Japanese Embassy. After that, register and submit the form at the Japanese Embassy in Indonesia.

  • Receiving proof of registration

After registering your e-passport, the Japanese Embassy will provide proof of registration. The proof will show the purpose of the trip with a duration of less than 15 days. This proof of registration is valid for 3 years or until the passport expires.

It is a very good chance for us to travel abroad. Japan with its diverse culture and beautiful sceneries can be an interesting country to explore. With the easy ways to get a free visa, do you have the will to travel there?
