Joan Releases “Nervous” Single and Announces Tour Dates

Joan, the acclaimed alt-pop duo, released a new single, “Nervous,” along with a new music video. The song makes listeners think back to their own schoolyard memories with their first crush. This type of infatuation elicits a multitude of intense emotions, and “Nervous” brilliantly depicts that thrilling yet unsettling feeling of intoxication.

With honey-dipped vocals over a unique kaleidoscope of sounds like beatboxing, clapping, and melancholy acoustic guitars, the sentimental and nostalgic single entices listeners. The accompanying video shows Joan singing against a backdrop of neon pink, blue, and green lights.

Joan also announced a 20-date US headlining tour in support of their eagerly awaited debut album, “Superglue,” which will be released on April 19th via Photo Finish Records. The upcoming run will begin in Atlanta on May 13th and take the duo across the country before ending in their hometown of Little Rock on June 16th.

When being asked about the song, Joan mentioned that they wrote it with the lovely Emily Falvey of Nashville and Jonathan Capeci from Nightly, and that the moment they all walked into the room together, there was instant chemistry.

They wanted to get as close to the emotion of a high school love story as possible, where people constantly want to be around their crush but also feel nervous about saying the wrong thing around their crush. Joan hopes that this song brings everyone back to that cool and distinct feeling.
