The Jakarta-Bandung High-speed Train (KCJB) will make its debut on August 18, 2023. PT Kereta Api Indonesia China (KCIC), the project’s consortium, provides free rides during the soft launch. (PhenQ)
According to KCIC Corporate Communication Manager, Emir Monti, the bullet train would not serve all stations during its inaugural public operation, but will only run from Halim Station to Padalarang Station and vice versa. He also stated that the ride mechanism is still being debated.
The operational testing will last until October 2023, after which the commercial operation will begin. The railway ticket price is still being discussed by KCIC, the Transportation Ministry, and other relevant players.
People in Jakarta can use the LRT from Sudirman Station to Halim Station. Then, they can take the high-speed rail from Jakarta to Bandung to Padalarang Station and get off at Padalarang to catch the feeder train (all the way to Bandung).
