
The 2023 Malang Flower Carnival event took place on Sunday evening, 30th July, 2023, in Jalan Basuki Rahmat, Malang. This event, themed “The Magnificent of Arok Dedes,” was organized in a vibrant manner along the street, which is also known as the Kayutangan Heritage.
This festival presented innovative clothes to highlight and promote local culture and history in Malang Raya and East Java. The Mayor of Malang, Sutiaji, attended the occasion, as did the Head of the Malang City Disporapar, Baihaqi, and the creator of Malang Flower Carnival, Agus Sunandar.
Agus Sunandar noted that this activity was purposefully held at night with better lighting and layout. According to him, Kayutangan Heritage was another component that contributed to the event’s uniqueness.
This event’s success also helped local designers to garner notice and support from the larger community. The carnival is intended to improve Malang City’s tourist attraction, which has been included in the Indonesian Ministry of Tourism’s Calendar of Events (COE) three times.

The carnival was also one of the top ten of Event Kharisma Nusantara 2021 in 2021. Baihaqi, the Head of Malang City Disporapar, said that 120 people attended the Malang Flower Carnival 2023 event, including those from Banyuwangi, Jember, Bali, and other regions of East Java.
With the splendor of Malang Flower Carnival 2023, there is great hope for the revival and strengthening of Malang City’s economy, particularly in the creative economy and tourism industries. Malang City maintains its originality and local wisdom through a variety of creative and inventive activities.
